Welcome to Kindergarten! We are so excited to have you join us here at Rosa Parks Elementary School. Below you will find a list of materials that are needed for our daily learning activities. We look forward to meeting you at Kindergarten Orientation. Can’t wait to start our journey together! 

School Supply List

• 4    boxes of thin Crayola crayons (24 Count) 
• 8    black thin dry erase markers (regular point-not fine point) 
• 2    Boxes of pencils (sharpened preferred) 
• 1    Scissors  
• 2    Pump Hand Sanitizer 
• 2    Boxes of Tissues 
• 1    Pack of 3 oz cups (Ex: Dixie)  
• 1    Box of Gallon Size Ziplock Baggies  
• Packs of small glue sticks 

DO NOT label the items because they will be shared with everyone!  

Your child will need a large backpack to take to and from school each day, and no wheels or telescope handles! 

Please place a change of clothes, including undergarments, in the backpack for your child.  Write your child’s name on the backpack and the bag of clothes. 

We will accept the following donations of things that we use frequently: 

• Plastic Baggies (Sandwich, Quart or Gallon Size) 

• Roll of paper towels 

• Snack donations (Individually wrapped)
  • For example: goldfish, crackers

Welcome to First Grade at Rosa Parks! We are so excited about the upcoming school year. Please use the list to guide your back-to-school shopping.

School Supply List

Please label these items with your child’s name: 

• Backpack 
• Pencil box (NOT a zippered pouch) 
• Primary lined composition book with picture space 
• Blunt end scissors 
• 1 red vinyl 2 pocket folder 
• 2 Large erasers (white Hi-polymer preferred) 

Please DO NOT label these community supplies: 

• 2 glue sticks  
• 2 yellow highlighters 
• 4 boxes of Crayola crayons (16 or 24 count - no larger boxes, please) 
• 1 pack #2 pencils (sharpened, if possible)  
• 12 or 24 Expo dry erase markers (black only, please) 

DONATIONS (optional): 

• 1 box gallon sized Ziploc bags 
• 1 box of sandwich bags  
• 4 large boxes of tissues 
• Disinfectant wipes 
• 2 bottles of hand sanitizer 
• Paper towels 
• Large white Hi-Polymer erasers 
• Band-Aids  

Not Allowed: 

• Glitter, scented, or fluorescent crayons 

• Glitter or scented glue/glue sticks 

• Mechanical pencils 

• Pens 

• Individual pencil sharpeners

The first-grade teachers encourage you to purchase extra crayons, pencils, and Expo markers while they are on sale. Your child will likely need to replenish his/her supplies mid-year.

• (1) plastic pencil box with snap closure (no larger than 6” x 9”)
• (1) pair of Blunt-point metal scissors
• (1) pocket folders with prongs - any color or design
• (3) ** black composition notebooks (marble style) wide-ruled (about 100 sheets)
  **No spiral notebooks and no loose-leaf paper please**
• (1) pair of wire headphones (NO earbuds, please)

All these supplies will be collected on the first day and distributed as needed.
