G
reetings Parents!
Ms Parylak and Owl

I am incredibly excited to guide each of your children on their journey of growth and learning here in our classroom!

When your children enter the classroom, they become a member of a team to partake in moments of collaboration to encourage their individual growth but also learning what it means to be a part of a community. Your children’s thoughts, actions, ideas, strengths, and talents will be valued and supported to soar.  Each of your children is entering my classroom with their own individual needs, a voice, and goals.

Each child will begin to learn how to use their voice, make their own goals, and become aware of their personal needs through the assistance of myself, Ms. Dutch, Mr. McCarren,  and each of you. Even though the collaboration that will be occurring within the immediate classroom environment involves your child, their peers, and myself, I believe the level of collaboration I envision goes beyond our classroom walls beginning with you. Parents enable our community to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Your participation and input in regards to your child’s education are incredibly valuable to each of us and your child. I look forward to forming and building a partnership with each of you and your children throughout this year! I am excited for all the goals each of your children will make and achieve throughout the year. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you over the course of this year.

I have started a class website via ClassDojo which is where we will be posting class information, handouts, notes, pictures, videos, and important event reminders throughout the year. I have sent home the code to access our Classdojo with our welcome newsletter. If you need a new access code for your child, please email me directly.

I will also be sharing resources that you and your children may access to reinforce what your children have been practicing in the classroom. I do not give homework, but my only request is to take the opportunity a few nights a week to read with your child. Children
will have the opportunity to earn dojo points each night they read at home. Parents will need to sign their child’s reading log sheet in their folder to say they have read at home.

I am here to answer any questions you may have about your child. Feel free to contact me via email or the ClassDojo website/app. Email would be the best way to reach me during schooling hours or through communication with the main office.

Sincerely,

Ms. Hannah Parylak, Ms. Dutch, & Mr. McCarren

Distance Learning

60 minutes per subject area is expected to be done each week (math, reading, writing, social studies, and science). However, we know this will look differently for everyone. You may complete all activities or use this as a choice board and complete up to 60 minutes of each subject in addition to watching the review videos we post throughout the week. The videos contribute 10-15 minutes to the 60 minutes per subject area. The choice boards are meant to fill the remaining 45-50 minutes. There is no new material being introduced. All lessons are reviews from the year. 😊
