Students should be completing their Action. By now all students have chosen an action which has been approved by me and their mentor. Continue to work on your action. We will be moving on to presentations later this month. More information regarding when Exhibition will take place will be coming home later.
Please be reminded that lunch detention has begun in 5th grade. Examples of ways students may earn detention are listed below.
- Incomplete homework
- Missing reading log more than 3 times per week
- Behavior resulting in a clip down to purple or pink (reviewed at the end of the day)
- Receiving a pink slip during Encore
- Incomplete classwork due to misbehavior
your students that homework should be completed nightly. It is the student's
responsibility to make sure they are completing their nightly reading as well
as any assigned homework.
Accelerated Math Practice
Students should be practicing their math using Accelerated Math daily. Each student is expected to complete 3 assignments each week for homework. Click on the link for AM on my Useful Links page.
Students will be bringing home a reading log daily. Students are expected to read 20 minutes each night and then a parent/guardian needs to initial. Students can read any text of their choice and can Read to Self or Read to Someone. Nightly reading helps to improve stamina and comprehension. Asking your child about what they read is a great way to ensure students are understanding what they are reading. I check the log daily and it is a monthly reading grade.
